Balancing Deen and Career in Ramadan

Question

Assalamu alaykum wa RahmatUllahi wa Barakatuhu! Ramadan is soon. I am planning to push myself more in deen and Ibadah and of course to fast. But i also want to do more in my career/business, but i am worried it can distract me from deen in Ramadan I mean should I increase focus in deen and decrease focus on dunya, or can I focus on both during Ramadan? Thank you very much in advance, this is a very important question to me!

Wa alaykum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

You can focus on both deen and career in Ramadan with balance.

Allah says:

وَابْتَغِ فِيمَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ وَلَا تَنسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا

“Seek the Hereafter with what Allah has given you, and do not forget your share of this world.”

(Quran 28:77)

The Prophet said:

إِنَّمَا الأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ

“Actions are judged by intentions.”

(Bukhari & Muslim)

If your work is halal and your intention is for Allah, your career can also become worship.

Just make sure:

(1)Salah and fasting come first.

(2)You read some Quran daily.

(3)You avoid useless distractions.

Keep balance , this is the Sunnah way.

Best of luck for Ramadan.

May Allah give you success in deen and dunya.

 Ameen.
