Is Listening to Music Without Haram Lyrics Allowed?

Question

Can I listen to music as long as it doesn't have any haram lyrics or anything against religion, and has no haram instruments like load beats. Also, is arabic music halal or haram?

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

music and musical instruments (except the duff in certain cases) to be impermissible (haram).

They based this on several hadiths, such as:

 Prophet ﷺ said:

There will be among my Ummah people who will regard as lawful: zina, silk (for men), alcohol, and musical instruments.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari – mu‘allaq, authenticated by Ibn Hajar)

So, according to the hadees listening to musical instruments (like drums, flutes, guitars, beats, etc.) is not permissible

Arabic music isn’t automatically halal or haram it depends on its content and form:
