Prayer Mistake Without Doubt

Question

Assalamualaikum I have heard about the term Fatwa shopping Where people affected with waswas (example: thinking they are out of the fold of islam) , ask fatwa A lot and thus are advised to not ask any questions Is that also applied if a person makes mistake in prayer intentionally, pronouncing a letter differently but not knowing if it's a mistake or not but still did it but could had pronounced as he / she always used to . Should the person repent sincerely Or the person should repent sincerely and check if the meaning has been changed and if it gets him/her out of the fold of islam.

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

Walekumussalam,

If a mistake occurs in pronouncing a letter during prayer, and you are not sure whether it was actually a mistake or not, then simply repent sincerely. Do not worry about whether this took you out of Islam. Just correct your intention and be more careful in the future. Worrying about meaning changing or falling into disbelief is a baseless doubt (waswasa), so ignore it.
