Question
if i have a dream with the same message (meeting up with my non muslim friends and talking to them who i havent seen in years) 3 times i ask my dad whats the meaning to this and he says it may help them with their journey to islam, i say in my prayer that if it is to help them with their journey give me another dream i get another dream about them. i then open the quran at a random page and its about the believers helping non muslims by giving knowledge and allah STW giving signs i do this 2 more times and its the same message is this a sign that i should contact them again or not
Islamic Ruling & Answer
VerifiedAccording to what you’ve described—the repeated occurrence of the same dream, then seeing it again after making duʿā’, and even finding similar themes when opening the Qur’an—these things may appear to point in one direction. However, in light of Islamic teachings, they cannot be considered a definite or certain command from Allah.
That said, it can certainly be said that a sense of goodwill and concern for the guidance of your friends has developed in your heart, and this in itself is a very good and commendable thing.
Therefore, if you choose to contact them again with the intention to:
speak in a good and respectful manner
convey the message of Islam with gentleness and wisdom
avoid any pressure or force
then this action is permissible and may even be rewarding.
However, it should not be taken as a compulsory sign or an obligatory duty. It is better that you perform Salat al-Istikhara, and if you then feel content in your heart, proceed with balance and wisdom.
