Ruling on Washing Impure Clothes by Hand, Machine, or Shower

Question

What is the proper way to wash clothes by hand and in a washing machine, and is it permissible to rinse *napaak* clothes under a shower jet instead of soaking them in a bucket of water?

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

(1) If clothes become impure (napaak), they must be washed until the impurity completely disappears  meaning no color, smell, or trace remains.

Reference :

ูˆูŽุซููŠูŽุงุจูŽูƒูŽ ููŽุทูŽู‡ู‘ูุฑู’

โ€œPurify your garments.โ€

(2) Whether washing by hand, in a washing machine, or under a shower, the ruling is the same. The principle is:

ุงู„ุนุจุฑุฉ ุจุฒูˆุงู„ ุงู„ู†ุฌุงุณุฉ

โ€œThe ruling depends on the removal of impurity.โ€

So if the impurity is removed with flowing water  even under a shower  the clothes become pure. Soaking in a bucket is not required.
