Can I Pray Salah Wearing Clothes With Small Holes?

Question

How much our awrah(satr) should cover to pray prayer. Sometime our night trouser has small holes so can we pray in it because for this small we can't throw it

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

According to the Hanafi school of thought, a man’s awrah in prayer is from the navel to the knees, and this area must be properly covered. A woman’s awrah is her entire body except the face and hands, and according to some scholars, even the wrists are included. Therefore, during (Salah), clothing should fully cover the awrah.

If there are small holes in night trousers, then the important thing is whether the awrah is becoming visible through those holes or not. If the holes are very small and the skin or body is not visible, then the prayer will be valid. However, if the holes are such that the skin or awrah becomes clearly visible, then praying in those clothes will not be valid.

So, if the holes are very minor and do not expose the awrah, you may pray in them. But if there is even a slight concern that the awrah may be visible, then it is better to wear another cloth over it or use clean and proper clothing for prayer.
