Scholarship demands honesty about mistakes. If an answer on Ask Mufti Online contains an error, here is exactly how it gets reported, reviewed and fixed.
How a Correction Happens

Report it
Anyone can report a possible error — a factual mistake, a missing reference, or a ruling that needs more context — via our contact page. Include the answer link and what you believe is wrong.

Scholar review
A qualified Mufti re-examines the answer against the Quran, authentic Sunnah and established Fiqh. Where more than one scholar is available, the review is done by a scholar other than the original author.

Decision
If the report is right, the answer is corrected. If the original stands, we may still add clarifying context so the misunderstanding doesn't repeat.

Transparent update
Material corrections update the answer and its date. We do not silently delete answered questions to hide mistakes.
What counts as a correction — and what doesn't
A correction addresses a genuine error: a wrong reference, a misquoted text, or a ruling that misapplies the sources. A difference of scholarly opinion is not an error — many matters carry legitimate difference between the schools of Fiqh, and where relevant our answers aim to note that. If you follow a different school and want a ruling from that perspective, you can ask a Mufti directly.

Use our contact page with the link to the answer and a short explanation. Reports are reviewed under our editorial & answer-review policy, and the scholars who review them are vetted under our scholar verification standard.
