Scholar Verification
An answer is only as trustworthy as the scholar behind it. This page sets out the standard every Mufti must meet before answering questions on Ask Mufti Online.
What We Verify Before a Scholar Answers
Formal training
Completion of a recognised Alim course (Daurah-e-Hadith) or equivalent formal study of the Islamic sciences at an established institution.
Specialisation in Ifta
For Muftis: advanced specialisation in Fiqh and Ifta (the discipline of issuing rulings) under qualified supervision.
Credential checks
Every scholar application is reviewed before approval: the applicant's qualification and institution are recorded and assessed, and the scholar's public profile reflects those qualifications.
Scope of practice
Scholars answer within their areas of competence. Questions outside a scholar's scope are referred rather than guessed at.
Source discipline
Answers must be grounded in the Quran, authentic Sunnah and established Fiqh, with references — per our editorial policy.
Ongoing review
Published answers remain subject to review, and errors are handled openly through our corrections process.
