As salaam alaykum sheikh, My question is how to make intention in heart for wudu and also for salah It means how is intention made in the heart because many scholars say that we can't intend verbally and is not liked say something in the head so I am confused that how can I intend in my heart without saying it inside my head . Jazakallah

The true place of intention is the heart. It is not necessary for a person to form words in the heart and repeat them; rather, the very purpose for which a person stands for wudu or salah is itself the intention.
For example, when a person goes to perform wudu, he has the intention in his heart that he is performing wudu in order to attain purification; this itself is the intention. Similarly, when a person stands for salah, faces the Qiblah, and knows which prayer he is going to perform, this is the intention of the heart.
Saying the words of intention with the tongue is not a condition or obligation. However, some jurists have considered verbalizing the intention permissible as a means to remove doubts or to help focus the heart. The main consideration is the intention of the heart.
