Question
I am a busy working husband and try my best to spend quality time with my wifeโusually around 30 minutes to an hour each day. However, she is asking for more time, and due to my responsibilities, I am unable to provide it. In Islamic teachings, would I be considered sinful for not meeting her desired amount of time?
Islamic Ruling & Answer
VerifiedNo, you are not sinful as long as you are fulfilling her basic rights and not neglecting her.
In Islam, a husband must provide financial support, good treatment, and reasonable companionship. If you are sincerely trying and giving 30โ60 minutes of quality time daily despite being busy, this is not a sin.

The best of you are the best to their families, and I am the best to my family.

So if you are not being harsh or careless, but only limited due to responsibilities, you are not sinful.
The best approach is for both of you to sit together and clearly discuss your expectations. Marriage is not a competition; it is a partnership.
May Allah put love, mercy, and understanding between you both, and bless your marriage with peace and barakah.
