Is My Prayer Valid if I Return to Ruku' After Standing Up Because I Was Distracted?

Question

Assalamualaikum, If one during prayer , when standing up from rukoo notices he/she was not focused while reciting the dua in rukoo , and is already reciting the dua when in standing position, and goes back to rukoo . Is the prayer valid .

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

Walekumussalam,

If one did not have proper focus while reciting the tasbeeh in rukoo, it is not necessary to go back into rukoo. If someone does go back and performs rukoo again, then having two rukoo in one rakโ€˜ah disrupts the proper sequence, which makes Sajdah Sahw necessary.

If Sajdah Sahw is performed at the end the prayer is valid

If Sajdah Sahw is not performed the prayer must be repeated
