Wa 'alaykum as-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

The claim that **ʿUmar ibn al-Khattab (RA) "pressured" the Prophet ﷺ until the hijab verses were revealed is false and is a misunderstanding of the authentic narrations. No human being could pressure the Messenger of Allah ﷺ into changing or bringing revelation.

The Qur'an is clear that revelation came only by Allah's command, not because of anyone's demands:

"Nor does he speak from his own desire. It is nothing but revelation revealed." (Qur'an 53:3–4)

What is authentic is that ʿUmar (RA) expressed an opinion on several matters, including that the Mothers of the Believers should observe more seclusion. Later, Allah revealed verses that agreed with his opinion. This is known as Muwafaqat ʿUmar (instances where Allah's revelation coincided with ʿUmar's view). It was Allah who chose to reveal these verses, not because He was pressured, but because it was His decree and wisdom.

If ʿUmar (RA) had suggested something and Allah did not will it, no revelation would have come. The fact that revelation agreed with him is actually a virtue granted to him by Allah, not evidence that he influenced or controlled revelation.

So it is incorrect to think, "If ʿUmar (RA) had not said anything, the hijab verses would never have been revealed." Allah had already decreed every verse before the creation of the heavens and the earth. ʿUmar's statement was simply one of the means through which Allah manifested His wisdom and honored him by making revelation agree with his opinion.

Therefore, saying that ʿUmar (RA) pressured the Prophet ﷺ is both disrespectful and theologically incorrect. The correct belief is that all revelation belongs solely to Allah, and the Prophet ﷺ only conveyed what was revealed to him.
