Islamic Ruling & Answer
Walekumussalam,
Digging the ground or constructing a new house is not prohibited in Islam because a woman is pregnant. There is no religious connection between a womanโs pregnancy and her family starting the construction or laying the foundation of a house. The belief that the ground should not be dug or construction should not begin until the baby is born is merely a superstition and an un-Islamic custom.
Therefore, they may proceed with digging the ground and constructing the house without any concern. There is no prohibition against this in Islam.
And Allah knows best.
