Question
is music haram?
Islamic Ruling & Answer
VerifiedIn Islam, music that leads to immorality, indecency, sin, or heedlessness of Allah is regarded as haram.
1.Allah Almighty says:
(Surah Luqman 31:6)
Many Companions explained “Lahw al-Hadith” as singing and musical amusement.
2. The Prophet ﷺ said:
(Sahih al-Bukhari)
He ﷺ also said:
(Musnad Ahmad)
A limited allowance is reported for the duff on occasions such as Eid and Nikah, as long as it remains within Islamic limits and free from indecency.
