“Kufr games & Repentance ruling”

Question

I have a question. I used to play a video game that contained kufr/shirk but I quit. In jannah, can I interact with characters from that game/a version of that game that doesn't have kufr or shirk? If I quit a kufr game and deleted it, do I also need to delete the game's specific account for my repentance to be accepted? or can i just resolve not to download it again? Another question, what if I make a character ai rp bot/scenario of that game while removing the elements that might be kufr or shirk, Ie pieces of lore/characters, while self inserting? Does that qualify as kufr?

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

In Paradise, a person will get whatever they desire, but there will be nothing false, sinful, or related to disbelief. So if someone wants something like a game or its characters, it will only be in a pure and permissible form, not in the same sinful way as in this world.

As for repentance, the basic principle is to leave the sin, feel regret, and firmly decide not to return to it. If you have done this, your repentance is complete. Deleting the game is enough; deleting the account is not necessary, but if keeping it might lead you back to the sin, then it is better to remove it as a precaution.

Similarly, if someone creates a Character AI or roleplay based on a game but removes all elements of disbelief or shirk, and no false beliefs remain, then it is not considered disbelief. However, it is still better to avoid doubtful things.

Lastly, keep in mind that in practice, such games often waste time, and anything that distracts a person from their religious duties and responsibilities should be avoided. So it is better to either leave them completely or set strict limits, and instead use your time for beneficial activities.
