Question
Assalamualaikum. I deeply aposige for asking about the same things. This is the last. If they are giving it to someone else , should I tell to tell that person , about the name of Allah written and also of authors . Or I am going very extreme , I have had waswas before and I don't want to fall in them again as in past , i did very extreme things . And if they are not , should I tell them , in this country we usually give it to someone who takes it and weighs it and they give money in return , but they don't keep it in a good manner i think Is it obligatory for me to tell everyone? Also , when was in my 7th or 6th , in history , a verse from quran was written but I do not know , should I search up the book and try to see if any of my friends are there , so I can tell them , If I don't have their number , and in school I meet them . Should I tell them , to tell everyone about this .
Islamic Ruling & Answer
VerifiedWalekumussalam,
First, if you are giving a book to someone, it is sufficient to simply tell them that the name of Allah or some religious text is written in it, so it should be treated with respect. If they later give it to someone else, it is not obligatory for you to inform every next person individually.
Second, if you know that in some places books are sold by weight and may not be treated respectfully there, then it is good to advise about this once. However, it is not obligatory for you to keep informing everyone repeatedly or to make sure that every possible person receives this message.
Third, if in the past (for example, in a school book) a verse from the Qurโan was written, then it is not required for you now to search for those old books or try to find all your friends to inform them. If the topic comes up naturally someday, you may mention the importance of respecting such text, but making special efforts for this is not necessary.
In summary, it is not obligatory for you to inform every individual. It is also not correct to put yourself into unnecessary hardship or excessive worry about this matter. If you have informed appropriately once, then your responsibility has been fulfilled.
