Fear of the future and faith

Question

If I feel fear towards the future and what can happen understood all the risks of life and decisions i have to make and responsibility I have to endure and face, does this mean I am not a ยซย good Muslimย ยป enough ? I have faith, only sometimes in the face of the unknown I feel fear even though I am faithful.

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

No, not at all. Feeling natural fear about the future is part of being human, and it is not necessarily a sign of weak faith. Even the Prophets (peace be upon them) experienced fear on certain occasions, yet they continued to place their trust in Allah.

Being a good Muslim does not mean never feeling afraid. Rather, it means trusting Allah, seeking His help, and striving to do what is right despite that fear. Therefore, if you sometimes feel afraid of the future but your faith and trust in Allah remain intact, this does not mean that you are not a good Muslim or that your faith is deficient.
