Is My Income Halal if I Work for a Dropshipping Store as a Product Listing Assistant?
Question
Assalamualaikum I work with an online Ricardo store whose model is dropshipping type. The company takes full payment in advance, product description is clearly mentioned original or not, delivery time is mentioned. Refund and return policy is also available. Order is canceled if the product is not delivered and refund is made. My work is only product listing Would my income be halal? Please tell me about this I am so confused at this time.
Islamic Ruling & Answer
VerifiedWalekumussalam,
According to the situation you have described, if your work is limited only to product listing, and it involves honesty, clarity, and no deception or fraud, and the companyโs overall business model is not against Shariah, then your income is halal (permissible).
However, if the companyโs core business model is based on any non-Shariah-compliant method (such as selling something not in its possession or involving deception), then it would not be permissible to assist in it.
Therefore, it is better that you consult a reliable local scholar or a Darul Ifta with full details to gain complete satisfaction.
