Is Talaq Valid If Pronounced Without Voice in Islam?

Question

Is talaq valid if husband did not speak it he just did lipsing the word and did not say by voice?

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

Divorce (ṭalāq) requires spoken words. The husband must say it loud enough that he himself can hear it.

If he moved his tongue but no sound was heard at all, even by himself, then no divorce takes place.

Just like thinking about divorce in the heart does not cause divorce, silent movement of the tongue without any sound also does not result in divorce.
