Question

How should a Muslim behave at school . Would it be permissible to 1) Bunking school if one has permission of parents . 2)bringing you tea cups to school if teachers allow one to . 3)drawing or doing other activities if teachers told to revise or study or complete what is left in free lectures 4) during free lecture , secretly going to other classrooms or roaming. 5)laughing with ones friends loudly if it's a mix school . 6) not completing ones homework. 7)or forgetting to do a teachers work , but didn't apologized . 8) what if the student was a very rebillious before and during lectures , did other things (drawing , playing etc) but doesn't know if teacher noticed or not .played games on computer during computer class and was thrown out . Should he apologized to all teachers after one is regretful of his/her actions.

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

(1) If there is no genuine or valid reason, then bunking school is not correct even if parents allow it, because it is negligence toward education and the rights of teachers.

(2) If it is not against school rules and proper permission is given, then it is allowed, as long as discipline is not disturbed.

(3) No. When a teacher tells students to revise or complete work, it is necessary to follow that instruction. Deliberately disobeying is wrong.

(4) No. This is disorderly behavior and a form of dishonesty, which goes against Islamic manners.

(5) Making unnecessary noise is not appropriate, especially in such an environment. A Muslim should behave with dignity and modesty.

(6) It is negligence in responsibility. A Muslim should be trustworthy and responsible.

(7) If a mistake happens, one should apologize immediately. Saying sorry is a sign of good character.

(8) The student should sincerely repent and firmly decide not to repeat it. If any teacherโ€™s rights were affected or disrespect happened, it is better and rewarding to apologize. It is not necessary to apologize to every single teacher, but where someoneโ€™s right was harmed, apologizing is better.

A Muslim student should seek education with honesty, respect, responsibility, and modesty.
