Multiple Pours, One Wash in Wudu?

Question

Salam, If a person wash a limb many times , filling the jug and pouring 5 times , but with the intention of one washing . Is this valid ?

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

Walekumussalam,

If a person pours water over a limb several times by filling the jug separately each time, then according to Islamic jurisprudence each pour will be counted as a separate wash. Merely intending it as one wash does not make them count as a single washing.

However, the wudu will still be valid, but washing more than three times is against the Sunnah.
