Is a Wife Sinful if Her Husband Commits Zina Because She Opposes Polygamy?
Question
If a man commits Zina because his wife doesn't accept him taking a second wife and threatens to take khula, take custody of the children etc. Is the wife sinful and take share in the zina
Islamic Ruling & Answer
Zina is a grave and personal sin, and its burden falls solely on the one who commits it. It does not become permissible due to someone else's refusal, pressure, or threats, nor is the sin transferred to another person.
Therefore, a wife's refusal to allow a second marriage or her mention of seeking khula does not justify the husband's committing zina, and she will not be considered a partner or responsible for that sin.
