Ruling on zombie games

Question

Are playing zombie games haram? A game contains "undead" creatures such as "zombies and skeletons" , and they are more as monsters, they are killed and they drop "rotten flesh and bones" respectively. This game doesn't comply this concept with magic or doesn't have resurrecting the dead but still has this idea of the "undead" existing.

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

The mere presence of fictional "undead" creatures such as zombies or skeletons in a game does not automatically make it haram.

If they are simply portrayed as imaginary enemies or monsters, and the game does not promote magic, the resurrection of the dead, shirk, or other false beliefs, then their presence alone is not sufficient to render the game haram.

However, if the game contains shirk, magic, indecency, blasphemy, or any other prohibited element, or if it causes a person to neglect their religious obligations, then the ruling will depend on those factors.
