Question
Salaam brother, In ruku or sujood, if my clothes shift such that my boxers can be seen, but no skin is exposed (the boxers are still covering the skin underneath), is my awrah still considered covered and salah valid? I ask because I know tight clothing can expose awrah and boxers can be tight as they are elastic, but there not see through. I follow hanafi madhab. Jzk
Islamic Ruling & Answer
VerifiedWalekumussalam,
If, during ruku (bowing) or sujood (prostration), your outer clothes shift and only your boxers become visible, but they are not see-through and the skin of the awrah (from navel to knees) is not exposed, then your awrah is still considered covered and your prayer is valid.
However, if the boxers are very tight and clearly show the shape of the body, then this is disliked (makruh) and against proper etiquette, but it does not invalidate the prayer.
So you can be at ease that your prayer is valid, but it is better to wear loose and proper clothing in salah to avoid any doubt.
