Question
My throat when I praying , it just kind of fills with saliva and mucus , so I have to clear it many times , sometimes makki g very loud noises , during sajdah , the ayn , sounds like ayn but not fully like ayn . I don't know if the meaning would change . So I clear my throat and rarely don't . Should I ?
Islamic Ruling & Answer
VerifiedIf saliva or mucus gathers in the throat during prayer and it makes recitation difficult, it is permissible to clear the throat lightly. This does not invalidate the prayer, even if a slight sound comes out, as long as it is due to a need.
However, it is better to avoid clearing the throat repeatedly or loudly without necessity. If, because of the sound, a letter is not pronounced perfectly, the prayer is still valid as long as the meaning does not clearly change.
