What Should I Do If I Make a Mistake While Reciting in Salah?

Question

Assalamualaikum, If one makes a mistake in pronouncing a word , should the person repeat that word or the whole sentence . Even if the person was on the next part . If the person didn't know what to do , so just repeated the verse , does he/she has to repeat the prayer .

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

Walekumussalam,

If a person makes a minor mistake in pronouncing a word during prayer, it is better to correct that word immediately. It is not necessary to repeat the whole sentence. If the person has already moved on, they may still correct the word or the verse if needed.

If, out of not knowing what to do, the person repeated the whole verse, there is no problem with that either. The prayer remains valid, and it is not necessary to repeat the prayer.
