If You Complete 30 Fasts but Arrive in a Country Where Ramadan Is Still Ongoing, Should You Continue Fasting?

Question

A man lives in Saudi Arabia and after breaking his fast on the 30th day of Ramadan, he left for Rajasthan. When he arrived here, he saw that the last fast was still going on, even though his 30 fasts had already been completed. Now what should this man do? Should he fast or break his fast?

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

He should observe the fast out of respect for Ramadan, even though his 30 fasts have already been completed.

Refrence:

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Fast when the people fast, and end the fast when the people end the fast.”
