Can I Name My Baby Boy Muhammad Saad ur Rehman?

Question

Can I keep Muhammad Saad ur Rehman name for boy?

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

Yes, keeping the name “Muhammad Saad ur Rahman” is permissible, and its meaning is also good.

“Muhammad” is the blessed name of the Prophet ﷺ, “Saad” means happiness and good fortune, while “Ar-Rahman” is one of the special names of Allah .

However, it is better and more commonly preferred to add “Abdul” before “Rahman,” such as:

Muhammad Saad Abdul Rahman

Or simply:

Muhammad Saad

Both of these names are more appropriate and closer to Islamic etiquette.
