Is Shaking Hands With a Non-Mahram a Major Sin in Islam?
Question
My name is Furkhan. Today I came to our Head office. Our Lady HR and my self Shaked hand with each other . I wanted to know it how bigger sins is this and how to repent the same
Islamic Ruling & Answer
VerifiedShaking hands with a non-mahram woman is not permissible in Islam, so what happened from your side is considered a sin. However, if it was done only as a formality and without any bad intention, it is generally not regarded as a major sin, though it should still be avoided.
You should sincerely repent from the heart, ask Allah for forgiveness, and try to avoid such situations in the future in a polite manner.
