Can a Muslim Woman Use a Unisex Username on Social Media?

Question

Is it permissible for a women to use a unisex name for her social media account as she does not want anyone to know her gender. But the name gives off more masculine vibes , but it's unisex .

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

If the name is truly unisex and the intention is only to keep one’s identity or gender private, then there is room for it. However, it is not appropriate to choose a name that deceives people or gives the impression that the person is a man.
