Assalamualaikum...Allah expiates sins through pain..illness..but he can forgive the sins without the pain...then why do we go through pain?

Allah can forgive sins even without hardship, but pain and trials become a means for raising a personโs rank, earning reward for patience, and turning back to Allahโthis is why we are sometimes made to go through them.
