Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

Walekumussalam,

Menstruation is considered finished when one of two signs appears, complete dryness (no trace of blood or discharge) or the white discharge (called qasแนฃah bayแธฤ). To check, it is better to use clean cotton or cloth, though checking with a finger is also allowed. The proper method is to first clean the outer area, then check. If you keep checking and still see blood, it means the period has not ended. It will not be considered finished until full dryness or white discharge appears.

A small spot or light stain of blood during your usual period days is also counted as menstruation. But if it appears after your normal days are over, then it is called istihada (irregular bleeding), not menstruation.
