Can a Muslim Woman Become a Gynaecologist Despite Workplace Challenges?

Question

Assalamualaikum..i am female doctor aspiring to become a gynaecologist as it involves female doctor and patients mostly..but it is very stressful and requires working day and night..sometime whole night..working environment is very toxic..is it permissible for me to be a gynaecologist?

Islamic Ruling & Answer

Verified

Wa Alaikum Assalam.

Yes, it is permissible to become a gynaecologist, as female doctors are needed for female patients and this is a noble service.

However, if the working environment is very toxic or harmful to your health, you are not required to tolerate harm. You may look for a better and safer workplace.

It is allowed, but protect your deen and health.
