Does Repentance Restore Good Deeds Lost Through Backbiting?
Question
Assalamualaikum..it is mentioned that if one backbites his good deeds are transfered to that person..if the person repents sincerely will he get back his good deeds?or only be forgiven?
Islamic Ruling & Answer
VerifiedWalekumussalam,
If a person backbites someone, then sincerely repents and also asks forgiveness from the person he backbit and that person truly forgives him then the matter is settled. On the Day of Judgment, his good deeds will not be transferred. Allah will forgive him.
But if the person does not forgive him, then on the Day of Judgment his good deeds may be given to the one he wronged.
